Proven Leadership Ability

Amid the turmoil of this election season, Branford is so very fortunate to have devoted, tireless, responsive, and effective state representation in State Senator Ted Kennedy, Jr. (D-12) and State Representative Lonnie Reed (D-102).

As the chair of the Senate Environment Committee, Ted has led the efforts to protect and improve Long Island Sound, and has actively sought and attained bipartisan support for his efforts. His background as a health care attorney has guided his Public Health Committee work to reduce costs by allowing reimbursement for home health care for seniors and those with disabilities, rather than costly nursing home care. He is also on the forefront of efforts to provide parity for mental health issues.

Lonnie, the co-chair of the Energy and Technology Committee of the General Assembly, has spearheaded efforts to regulate the siting of cell towers, and to prohibit disreputable electric retailers from preying on consumers. She is in the forefront as a legislative custodian of Long Island Sound and a leader in promoting economic growth, endorsed by the Connecticut Business and Industry Association.

Ted and Lonnie share a love of Branford, attentiveness to the individual and collective needs of Branford’s citizens, and have the proven leadership ability to work across the aisle to enact meaningful change for Branfords’s health, environmentally and economically.

They truly deserve to be re-elected on Nov. 8.
