An Effective Team

I encourage voters to re-elect State Representative Sean Scanlon (D-98), and State Senator Ted Kennedy, Jr. (D-12) for another term in the State Legislature.

They have proven to be an effective team in working hard for their constituencies. Whether on employment and jobs, education, the environment, or transportation, Sean and Ted recognize their roles as public servants and have reached across party lines to get the work of their respective towns done.

Sean led the fight against heroin/opioid addiction, co-sponsoring various legislation to help fight this crisis. Ted has led the fight on mental health and substance abuse coverage. They have both worked across party lines to work on these and other issues that face their respective towns. They both have worked to secure grant money to improve infrastructure (such as the Branford train station and Guilford downtown parking lot) in their towns, and funding to improve the weed problem in Lake Quonnipaug. Their efforts have resulted in reversing the cut to the education cost sharing grant to both towns. These are just some of the examples of how effective these legislators have been.

Times are difficult for everyone, but the best quality these legislators have is that they tell the truth about what is happening in our state, even if it’s not the news we want to hear. Voters should send these effective, capable legislators back to Hartford on Nov. 8 to continue their work for us. Experience does matter and results do count.
