A Positive Future

As a young person, I look to politicians to work toward improving our economy and making our state better for those just starting out. State Senator Art Linares, Jr. (R-33) and State Representative Devin Carney (R-23) have stood for policies that will make Connecticut a better place for young people and young families.

I hope to really settle down in Old Saybrook someday and that will be more of a reality with people like Art and Devin representing us in Hartford. Many of my peers want to remain here, but get discouraged by a government that refuses to listen to the future of our state. That’s not the case with Art and Devin. They don’t disregard youth, but rather fight to prevent us from going to states where it may be more affordable by focusing on ensuring job growth and opportunity.

They have consistently supported legislation that makes it easier for new businesses to form, that makes it easier to refinance student loans, and makes it easier for companies to grow and create jobs. Both Art and Devin co-founded the bipartisan Young Legislators Caucus for this very reason—to work toward a prosperous economy for many years to come.

If your readers believe in a positive future for Connecticut, I encourage them to cast their votes for Art Linares and Devin Carney on Nov. 8.
