I would like to thank the East Haven community for supporting the recent professional wrestling event “DieselMania” on Sept. 24 held at East Haven High School with proceeds going to benefit the Michael “Diesel” DeAngelo Memorial Scholarship fund. This show was created, organized, and hosted by Paradise Alley Professional Wrestling.

Paradise Alley is a local wrestling school with a big heart and whose athletes put on a tremendous show for a great cause, proving that professional wrestling can and does transcend the negative stereotypes placed upon it by the mainstream media. Positives can arise from this art form when it is indeed used in a powerfully positive manner as was the case on Sept. 24 at the East Haven High School.

The athletes involved in this card pushed their bodies to the limit as they performed moves in and out of the ring. It clearly took hours of dedicated training to learn how to properly perform all the moves, with one goal in mind to raise money for the Michael “Diesel” DeAngelo Memorial Scholarship fund. The audience varied in ages from the very young to the very young at heart. Those who viewed the show were entertained as the show took their minds off the stress and problems of everyday life while spending time with and creating new memories with their families and friends.

I would like to thank East Haven High School for allowing the facility to be used for the show and the staff and athletes of Paradise Alley Wrestling for creating this show to remember and honor East Haven’s own Michael “Diesel” DeAngelo. This was a quality event in every aspect from the start of the evening to the very end.

It was an honor to be asked to be affiliated with this show.
