Be Seen and Heard

I know it’s not always easy for people to attend public meetings and speak their mind. It’s not for everyone. What is easy? Being present. There’s strength in numbers and coming up on Monday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center there is a special Planning & Zoning Commission meeting for the sale/approval of the 200 Tyler Street plan. This is the best time for the residents to be seen and heard by the decision makers.

This is a meeting those live around the old high school must attend. The future of the neighborhood is being molded. Do your readers feel that they and their neighbors have been heard? Do they feel that the plans follow what the Blue Ribbon Committee recommended? Do they think the state should step in and decide if the original referendum is binding and not just take the town attorney’s word for it?

If you haven’t seen the plans, you can go to the town website. There is a lot to consider and not everyone is going to be happy. Let’s be sure our councils, boards, and commissions hear our voices.
