Desire to Work Hard

During his first term as Connecticut state senator, Ted Kennedy, Jr., has shown his political strength in his varied accomplishments.

In keeping his promise to meet the needs of his constituents, Senator Kennedy has helped resolve hundreds of constituent cases, and has hosted regular open office hours during his time in office.

As Senate chair of the Environment Committee, Senator Kennedy led the charge on significant environmental reforms that impact Long Island Sound, farmland preservation, plastic pollutants in our rivers and streams, and toxic pesticides on municipal playgrounds.

As a health care lawyer and member of the Public Health Committee, Senator Kennedy helped enact innovative reimbursement reforms that allow seniors and people with disabilities to access in-home care and avoid state spending on more costly nursing home stays. He is also working to ensure mental health parity is being properly implemented. As a bone cancer survivor and amputee, he continues to be a strong supporter of those with disabilities.

Last March, working to get the state fiscal house in order, he voted to close the 2016 budget shortfall and still restore hospital funding in full, preserve town aid, and protect funds for core social services.

Senator Kennedy has demonstrated his desire to work hard for all the people of Connecticut. I encourage your readers to support his re-election on Nov. 8!
