Tenacious Support

A while back, I was involved in an automobile accident on the Route 40 Connector in which my car spun out and slammed into some concrete bridge abutments. Ten months after the accident, I received a bill from the state for the repair of metal guardrails that were not involved in the accident. My appeal to have the fine dropped was rejected by the Department Of Transportation (DOT).

I contacted Rep. Dave Yaccarino for help. The DOT rejected an outreach by Dave’s assistant saying the decision was final and wouldn’t be changed. By this time, the state had turned over my fine to a collection agency!

At this point, Dave got involved personally. He visited the accident site, took measurements and photos, and concluded it was impossible for the guardrails in question to have been involved in the accident. Armed with his research Dave convinced the DOT and Department of Public safety to re-evaluate their findings and they concluded a mistake was made. I was not at fault in causing the accident and the billing for repairs to the guardrails was dropped.

Dave’s tenacious support demonstrates his commitment to his constituency and fairness. We are fortunate to have Dave Yaccarino representing us and I encourage all North Haven voters to return him to office on Nov. 8.
