Be Very Careful

Yesterday I received a call from what I thought was Eversource, my supplier of electricity. The salesman claimed to be able to give me a lower rate than what I was being charged at present. He did not mention Eversource, but spoke in a manner that indicated he was from Eversource.

He was not, and his quoted deal price was 2 cents more than Eversource is charging. This was a scam and I finally told the salesman I was aware of his fraudulent behavior and have since reported the attempt to Eversource. They advised me they have had a number of reports of this scam and that Eversource does not contact customers by phone in these matters.

I suggest readers be very careful of anyone calling about utility deals and I trust Eversource will obtain regulatory assistance in stopping and punishing the company that was stupid enough to call me.
