Would Be a Welcome Addition

I have been reading about the controversial (?) proposal to convert the old, vacant Girl Scout Camp Murray into a paintball park for kids and adults. Granted, I do not live in the area and am a little fuzzy on the opposition. Anyone in our town who drives by sports fields usually see them vacant too much of the time. An activity such as paintball would be a welcome addition to get kids away from video games and out in the fresh air having some fun with friends.

If the safety codes are enacted as promised by the owner and adding another business to the tax rolls is important, let’s go for it. I know there are concerns on how far the property would be to the high school. How ironic is it that everyone who uses North High Street drives by an actual rifle range? I can hear the small arms fire from my house when a group is using the range and my family has no concerns.

Why have I not read about this issue in the Courier? The paintball field is a local issue and it needs a local discussion.
