Drastic Improvements

As residents of Branford for 48 years, we have enjoyed all of the recreational activities our town has to offer. The addition of Foote Park certainly increased our opportunities for playing tennis. Since the town has taken over the operation of this park, we have seen drastic improvements to the physical plant, as well as of the atmosphere at the park.

We must commend First Selectman Jamie Cosgrove and Recreation Director Alex Palluzzi for the excellent job they are doing in running this Branford treasure. Both have been so responsive to ideas and suggestions from townspeople about the tennis courts. All emails sent to both of these gentlemen have been answered that same day! They are eager to make improvements and address any issues noted by the tennis players who enjoy this facility.

Butch, the head maintenance man, goes above and beyond the call of duty to be sure the courts are in the best possible condition every day. The park hasn’t looked this good in many years and the condition of the tennis courts is 100 percent better in just the few months the town has had ownership.

Sincere thanks go to Jamie, Alex, Butch, and all the park crew for doing such an excellent job in managing and maintaining Foote Park. As tennis players, we really appreciate their efforts.
