Professionalism, Sincerity, and Persistence

Everyone who lives in or has visited Deep River’s Landing neighborhood over the past few years has experienced the noise, dust, and disruption as workers installed town water and sewer. It’s been a long, sometimes frustrating project for all of us who live here and one that we’ll be glad to see over. As much as an inconvenience it has been, though, this project is good for both the river and our property values.

Now that it appears that the end is in sight, it would be understandable if we all just breathed a sigh of relief and moved on, but I think that would do a great disservice to the skill and hard work all of those involved in the project if we didn’t take a moment to acknowledge them. So, kudos to the construction crews, machinery operators, and other craftspeople who worked through heat and cold to dig the holes, lay the pipe, and cover it all up again. I thank them.

And thanks go to the elected officials and staff of the Town of Deep River, too. I can’t imagine how much extra hard work they all have put into this. I’m sure their jobs were difficult enough without this added burden!

Finally, a special thank you goes to First Selectman Angus McDonald, Water Pollution Control Authority’s John Ely, and Selectman’s Assistant Gina Sopneski, as well as the crews of B&L Construction and Appleby Plumbing, for helping me out when I needed it. I greatly appreciate their professionalism, sincerity, and persistence. I only wish Dick Smith were here to thank as well.
