Already Ridiculous

On Aug. 3, another accident on I-95 between exits 55 and 56 closed one lane and backed up traffic up all the way to Exit 57 in Guilford. Daily back-ups on Route One and I-95 in Branford are becoming the norm. People are late to meetings, late to work, and frustrated with the inconvenience. Neighborhood roads are increasingly used as shortcuts to avoid congested main roads.

What will happen when the Exit 56 giant shopping center adds at least 2,000 extra cars an hour at peak hours during the week and weekends?

The traffic situation between Branford and Guilford is already ridiculous. How can more cars headed to Exit 56 be good for local businesses, the environment, and the quality of life for Connecticut residents?
