Stop and Consider

Thank you to the members of the Veterans Parade Committee for planning and organizing this year’s Memorial Day festivities, and to each person who had a part in bringing it to pass. What a heart-stirring, solemnizing, and honoring ceremony! It did make us stop and consider the blood sacrifice made by our men and women who have served in the military on our behalf. The peace and freedom which we enjoy now, yet take so much for granted, was bought at a very high price.

We thank them for their work in crafting such a memorial—the words spoken, the music played and sung, the prayers to almighty God, the veterans present, and firemen in uniform—in order that we would once more remember our military serving us right now, those who did their part and returned, and those who died in service.
