Dishonesty Overflowing

Imagine if Branford had an honest Inland Wetlands Agency (IWA). Many new businesses would certainly consider our town friendly to new endeavors. That’s not to be, as we have dishonesty overflowing not only from the commission, but specifically from its chair, Dan Shapiro, and the IWA director, Diana Ross.

I feel Branford deserves better, much better. After watching the April 28 meeting of the IWA and listening to the attorneys representing landowners speak to the issues, it really showed how blatant the corruption is on this commission. Referring the new regulations to be reviewed by the town attorney finally showed some degree of common sense. The stipulation that the review had to be completed two days before the next IWA meeting was laughable.

Terms will be up at the end of May. The corrupt members have to go and be replaced with members who will do the right thing for the town. I look at the current actions of Shapiro and Ross as equivalent to Custer’s last stand, and we all know how that turned out
