I would like to add my voice to numerous others who have suggested that we name something in town after our late first selectman, and respectfully propose that the Town Hall be renamed “The Richard H. Smith Town Hall.” This proposal is based on the fact that First Selectman Dick Smith spent the longest tenure in the history of our town presiding in this historic Town Hall, and it will probably be the longest ever.

He loved this town with all his heart and I think we all know it would both honor him and make him happy that he was remembered in this way.
