Went Well Above and Beyond

On March 9, I was having trouble breathing. I dialed 911 and in less then two minutes Master Sergeant Jay Rankin of the Old Saybrook Police Department was at my door and rendering assistance. He along with another officer and paramedics transported me to the Middlesex Emergency Clinic. M/Sgt. Rankin not only administered first aid on the scene, but he stayed with me at the clinic and made sure that my dog was taken care of and my property was secured. He then called me in the hospital to assure me that my dog and home were taken care of.

There is no doubt in my mind that his immediate response and care helped me to recover. When I thanked him he told me he was just doing his job. In my opinion, he went well above and beyond just doing his job.

Old Saybrook is a great place to live and work because of people like Jay Rankin and the men and women of the Old Saybrook Police Department.
