A Shout Out

I’m writing this to give a shout out to the parishioners of St. Vincent de Paul Church. For the last three weeks, donations of food, cash, and gift cards were collected by our Confirmation class to donate to needy families in our East Haven parish community. With these generous donations, 24 families will be able to have ham and other food for their Easter dinner. The children in these families will all receive an Easter basket filled with candy, snacks, and small toys.

The Easter baskets were assembled by Cheryl Cooper, a parishioner, who via social media requested Easter donations. An amazing number of generous people responded, so much so that we were also able to donate to the children at Life Haven.

I would be remiss if I did not thank Carol Silva and Christine Gambardella, who have been working with our wonderful Confirmation class. Those young adults packed the boxes for delivery on March 23. Also a thanks goes to the parents and parishioners who volunteered to deliver the food.

I wish them all a happy and blessed Easter.
