Full Disclosure Would Be Appropriate

Here’s an interesting notation to the Board of Education budget hearings: Not one mention was made by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert Cronin of 11th grade SBAC testing. Could it be because there were no results, as the wrong test was administered?

We had the dubious distinction of being only one of two municipalities in the entire state in which the wrong test was given. It would be very interesting to find out whether or not anyone was held accountable for this disturbing error, what costs were involved (if any) in administering the test, who the proctor was who chose the wrong testing, and why the superintendent neglected to mention it at all. Considering the fact that he is requesting a more than six percent increase in the school budget, one would think full disclosure would be appropriate.

The incorrect testing information seems to be noticeably lacking in the reporting of our local papers. Wonder why?
