Key to the Success

While the weather felt like nothing like December, the spirit of the holiday was in full force as Westbrook’s annual Santa breakfast benefiting the high school’s Project Graduation was held the morning of Dec. 12 at the main Fire House. Project Graduation Treasurer Kim Esposito announced that the breakfast took in more than $1,200. Guests enjoyed a pancake breakfast and for many, both young and old, a photo opportunity with Santa Claus.

Each year the students and their parents and friends organize a series of events to help raise money so that seniors can celebrate this special milestone in a safe and responsible manner.

More than a dozen members of the Class of 2016 and their families helped with the breakfast and this was without a doubt key to the success of the event. At the same time, Project Graduation co-chairs Diane Utegg and Kristen Dahl would like to give special recognition to the following without whose help the event would not have been as enjoyable as it was: Westbrook Fire Department for use of the hall; Mary Brainard, parents, student volunteers, and Lee and Mary Ella Luft for providing valuable advice from past efforts; and former Westbrook High School principal Bob Hale for assisting with the festivities.
