Holding to What’s Best

My name is Alec Martin. I’m running for the position of alternate on the Killingworth Planning & Zoning Commission on the Democratic line.

I have lived in Killingworth since 1978, when I married my wife, Mary. I am 66 years old and still playing soccer—I am the captain of the Clinton Over Forty soccer team. I run a small handyman business here in Killingworth, Help is on the Way. I went to architectural school in New York City, where I studied everything from surveying to design to zoning laws. I went on to work as a draftsman in several New York City architectural and engineering offices.

Killingworth is growing and changing. I like growth and change. I also like the ambience of Killingworth—that balance is a function of the zoning laws. Zoning regulations are tremendously important, they are holding to what is best for the community when it comes to the impact of projects and situations on the community.
