Trustworthy and Non–Partisan

This November, we have an opportunity to add a strong person to the Board of Education for Haddam-Killingworth Regional School District #17. I am writing in support of Suzanne Sack for the full term. I have four children in the HK schools and I think she has just the right skill set, smarts, and sensibilities to be a great addition to the board.

I’ve known Suzanne and have had the opportunity to work with her on several projects over the last six years. On one project, I witnessed her tackle several complex issues, wading through detailed legal documents, to come up with a simple solution—then was on task, roping in several of us less-focused folks, until the job was done. She was very thorough, tenacious with follow-through, and saved us several thousands of dollars in the process.

Suzanne is an excellent listener and is diplomatic in some of the stickiest situations. I’ve seen her speak publicly and she is articulate and confident and able to influence a group. She is trustworthy and non–partisan.

Whenever I have my kids with me, she focuses right in on them, talking to them with respect and interest, making them feel comfortable and welcome among the adult group.

I can see her attending the board meetings, doing the necessary homework, asking tough questions, considering the various views, and diagnosing the problem to its source. She’ll offer solutions that many will find satisfactory in the face of difficult choices.

I trust she’ll look out for our children’s best interest and do a great job. I encourage your readers to join me in voting for Suzanne Sack on Nov. 3 in the upcoming municipal election.
