Insight and Experience

Regional School District 17 (RSD 17) is fortunate to have Suzanne Sack, a candidate with exceptional qualifications, running for a seat on the Board of Education. This position requires a dedicated, responsible person with insight and experience.

I have served on the board for six years; it is rare that the RSD 17 school board has the opportunity to have a member of such high caliber willing to serve our town, its children, and schools. We do not want to miss this opportunity to add someone with her work experience, education and skill level.

In addition to her strong, 25-year long work résumé in finance and education, Suzanne has stepped up to lead a number of projects here in Killingworth. One of those projects was “A Community Conversation on Education: How do we ignite and sustain our kid’s interest in areas of STEM?” This project was a large-scale, logistically challenging, leadership-dependent effort. I got to observe her firsthand lead the pre-planning group, laying out objectives, facilitating the conversation, and leading the group to a consensus about how to approach the conversation. She had a written project plan that NASA would have envied. In addition, she hosted the public program, keeping it on track and all the participants fully engaged.

She is confident and thorough; she persuades with facts and listens to others. She can be counted on to do what she says she will do.

I have great confidence in her, am excited that she is willing to devote extensive time and energy to the Board of Education, and will look forward to serving with her on the board. I encourage your readers to join me in voting for Suzanne Sack on Nov. 3.
