Understands the Challenges and Changes

Critical to the future of Westbrook is the future of its Board of Education. Good towns have quality schools and Westbrook is one of those towns. Changing education standards are placing higher demands on our students, teachers, and administrators. The Common Core State Standards are changing how we educate our youth. This, in turn, impacts funding of all local school systems in Connecticut. Westbrook must be ready to face those challenges with sound policy decisions and fiscal responsibility.

Westbrook has one of the smallest school systems in the state. To maintain our current high quality of education, we must make every tax dollar count. It is imperative that we elect a board member who understands these coming changes and also represents fiscal responsibility. Don Perreault is that person. His qualifications speak for themselves: a classroom teacher for 27 years, awards for excellence in teaching, and, most important, his own children in the school system. He knows and understands the challenges and changes facing our school system.

One only needs to talk with Don to know that he wants our schools to be the very best not only for his children but also for all the children of Westbrook. Votes for Don Perreault and the Republican team on Nov. 3 will help ensure we keep moving in the right direction.
