Honestly, Conservatively, and Conscientiously

It has been my pleasure to serve as treasurer for Killingworth since 2005. I have fulfilled my duties honestly, conservatively, and conscientiously.

In Killingworth the treasurer’s position is part-time, but this does not diminish the importance of the position. A few of my responsibilities include making town deposits, signing checks, preparing a monthly deposit report, and presenting it to the Board of Finance at its monthly meeting. I bring to the job many years of administrative experience in both the private and public sectors, including 12 years in RSD 17 and 14 years in RSD 4. This work also required the kind of careful attention to detail that I bring to the position of treasurer.

Since coming to Killingworth 47 years ago, my husband and I have served the community in many ways. I have been an active member of the St. Lawrence Church for more than four decades; I have worked with the Killingworth Library Association; and I am a board member and past treasurer of the Killingworth Historical Society. Donald has been a volunteer fireman for 39-plus years and continues to serve. He’s also one of the loyal volunteers who mow the fields at our wonderful Parmelee Farm.

We have been fortunate to live in Killingworth and raise our four children here. For me, Killingworth has always meant good neighbors helping each other and coming together for the common good. I thank your readers for their past support and ask for their vote once again on Nov. 3.
