Have the Qualifications to Manage

On Nov. 3, Chester residents have the opportunity to vote for two highly qualified Democratic candidates for the Board of Selectmen. Lauren Gister, an attorney and former Marine Corps officer, will bring her legal skills and leadership qualities to the position of first selectman. Charlene Janecek has served our community for more than 40 years as a member of the Chester Hose Company Auxiliary, on the Chester Agricultural and Mechanical Society Board of Directors, as a registrar of voters, as a Main Street Project Committee member, as a Retirement Board member, and on the Board of Fire Commissioners, as well as a successful center business woman.

Together, Lauren and Charlene have the qualifications to manage the daily operations and details of town government with care and concern for Chester’s residents and businesses. They will pursue appropriate Grand List growth, continue to care for our buildings and infrastructure, and involve residents in discussion and careful decision making for projects that effect our taxes and the quality of life in our unique Chester community.

I encourage Chester voters to elect Lauren Gister and Charlene Janecek on Nov. 3 because they care for Chester.
