Special Among the Many

On Wednesday, my riding mower decided to quit half on my lawn and half on the busy Hartford Turnpike. As many cars and trucks passed, this senior proceeded to try to get (push) the mower off the road. Suddenly and to my surprise, a voice asked if I needed any help, to which I answered, with exhaustion, “Yes!”

The gentleman immediately exited his home heating fuel truck and attempted to restart my mower to no avail. He then proceeded to push my large rider mower up my steep driveway out of harm’s way (no easy task). I offered a gratuity, which he quickly refused, but we settled for a heart warmed handshake.

So I wish to publicly thank my good samaratin Paul Larusso for being so kind and considerate to a senior in need. On that Wednesday, while many passed this struggling senior unnoticed, he stopped to help. That makes him special among the many.
