05/27/2015 08:00 AMIt takes a whole community to make a garden sale a success, and Westbrook and shoreline residents stepped up again this year, making our garden club’s May 9 Garden Market one of the best.
Special thanks go to Grove Gardens, Riggio’s, and Van Wilgen’s for stakes and sign holders, Vaiuso Farms for annuals, and to the Boy Scouts, Jojo’s Food Bag, Oxford Academy, and Westbrook Package Store for help and contributions of all kinds.
Of course we couldn’t have done it without hard-working garden club members and our responsive and generous community, many of whom showed up to buy plants and Mother’s Day gifts, and to spend a pleasant hour with friends and neighbors on the Green. Their participation enables community education and beautification, as well as our annual $1,000 college scholarship. The support means the world to us!
