A Fun-Filled Family Night

The 2015 Safe Graduation Committee recently held a fundraiser at Valley Regional High School (VRHS), which had the Harlem Wizards basketball team take on the Region 4 Revolution. The Revolution is a team comprised of teachers, staff, and coaches representing all five of the tri-town schools within the Region 4 district as well as a local state senator. The sellout crowd was treated to high-flying basketball trick shots, incredible dance moves, and a tremendous amount of laughter! Everyone was smiling during this family fun night where audience participation was encouraged and expected.

The Safe Grad Committee is a group of volunteer parents of seniors of the class of 2015. Their goal is to plan a fun, alcohol-free event for all graduating seniors that will take place following the high school graduation. It provides all seniors, free of charge, with a safe place to celebrate with their classmates.

The Wizards event was brought to VRHS by the generous donations of our sponsors. The committee would like to thank the following: Bob's Discount Furniture, Finkeldey Septic, Gorilla Graphics, Hubbard/Needleman, Tower Laboratories, The Lee Company, Community Music School, Deep River Pizza, Mather & Pitts Insurance, C.A.R.S., Razz Salon, Valley Travel basketball, and Simon's Marketplace.

Thanks go to all who came out on the cold January evening to support this night of good quality family fun. The feedback was so positive!

We would also like to thank the Region 4 administration for its full support and the custodial staff for its help and hard work to make the evening run smoothly.

The Safe Grad Committee continues fundraising and seeking donations. The Safe Grad Committee works under Tri-Town Youth Services and is a 503c3 organization with all donations tax deductible. To make a donation, please contact Melissa Haines at 860-526-3600.
