A Powerful Voice

Although he has long been known for his volunteer work as a private citizen, Ted Kennedy, Jr., is a new face in Branford's political arena. As a family man, he waited to run until his two children were in college and grown. I respect that decision.

Ted's face is very welcome to me. As a senior citizen living on a fixed income, I found him to be a good listener about what we seniors in Connecticut face. He has strong feelings about helping seniors and the disabled to live in their own homes. He points out that this is not only better for the welfare of the individuals; it has also proven to be much more cost effective for all concerned.

Ted has known what a disability entails from a young age. The strength and endurance he showed in dealing with his own disability is an inspiration to all of us who face health challenges, young or old! As a healthcare attorney and national adviser on healthcare policy, he will be a powerful voice in the Connecticut Senate.

My encounter with Ted made me feel I wanted to help him to become our state senator; I am volunteering in his campaign, and I urge other seniors to do the same.
