Common Sense, Not Puppets

Does a Planning & Zoning Commission really exist in Deep River?

I recently went to a public hearing involving a major subdivision on July 17. When I asked a question about the proposal, and the engineer replied back, the acting chairman, Tom Walsh, quickly became rude and threatening. He asked me to leave when the questions I asked about regarding the regulations weren't to his liking. Specifically, I noted the subdivision had no driveway as required and no fire protection as required for three or more houses per regulations, and it upset his agenda. This is the same person who in 2006 told me to address a couple items during my subdivision proposal, come back, and would pass it as it seemed reasonable, but quickly changed his position thereafter, upon instructions, and shifted me to the Zoning Board of Appeals.

They even went as far as having an officer at the hearing to intimidate the public. We need big changes in the Planning & Zoning Commission-new, honorable commissioners with knowledge and common sense, not puppets controlled by the zoning official.
