Hard Time in Deep River

I thought Deep River wanted to create a tax base as a business-friendly town. Does our zoning official get paid extra to selectively give certain people a hard time? I've recently noticed a particularly hard time given to a commercial/industrial property owner in town trying to obtain a repair license on his property.

I myself received a repair license in 1996-a simple process under then-astute chairmen. I myself continue to be given a hard time to reinstate a former residential lot on property I've owned since 2002. Three applications later, each time additional items added. Most recently it was a fire protection tank at a cost of $30,000 plus installation, and the first selectman lets this go on. The other selectmen just sit back and say nothing.

I encourage your readers to get out and vote at the next election, remove these people nesting in the Town Hall, and take back our town, before we can't afford to live here anymore. Hopefully this time we get a choice.
