A Heartfelt Thank You

Thanks go to all the incredible residents and businesses of Old Saybrook, as well as all those along the shoreline. As a result of their generosity, the Shoreline Fire Departments' major food drive to benefit the Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries was a big success.

At just one of the collection sites at the Old Saybrook Fire Department (OSFD), more than 1,250 pounds (out of the 10,000-pound goal at the 10 shoreline fire stations) was collected during the food drive on Saturday, April 27. Thank you to volunteers Nadine "Deanie" Sabrin; Karen Paul; OSFD support members Rich Mulvihill and Bob Peterson; OSFD firefighters Tony Cronin, Bill Robbins, Ned Loiseille, and Jackie Gearity; OSFD Lt. Ron Selines and Lt. John Gamble; and junior firefighter Andrew Gamble.

Thanks, as well, go to the Old Saybrook High School and Town Hall for their support. And a big thank you to print media sponsor Harbor News/Shore Publishing; radio sponsors John Fuller and Full Power Radio for the live remote broadcast at OSFD headquarters; WBMW-Soft Rock 106.5 FM Teresa and Shawn; Jammin' 107.7 FM Brian and Miss L; 94.9 News Now's Ron Carson, Lee Elci, and JB; and Bob Muscatell at WLIS/WMRD 1420 AM/1150 AM.

And finally thanks go to my new company, Perfect Fit Placement, Inc., of Berlin, for a $175-plus food donation from my fellow team members; Pastor Meredith Calo, Shoreline Church, Old Lyme, for more than a $220 food donation; and the management of Stop & Shop in Old Saybrook for a very generous food donation.

From the bottom of my heart, thank to all-they all made it happen!
