Chester Democrats Invited

As chairman of the Chester Democratic Town Committee, I would like to ask all registered and interested town Democrats to join me on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Chester municipal building community room (Middlesex Turnpike/Route 154) for the biennial Democratic caucus.

It is at this caucus called every two years that registered Democrats select the 25-person Democratic Town Committee. The town committee has the primary obligation to find and nominate candidates for municipal and state elected office. This is your readers' opportunity to make their feelings known and to put people in place to represent them. People chosen for the Democratic Town Committee will serve two years. They will select the committee leadership in March and play a role in nominating and supporting candidates for municipal and state office in 2014 and 2015.

This is a special caucus for me, as I am stepping down as chairman. I hope to continue, however, to be involved with the town committee. Again, let me extend an invitation to all registered Democrats to attend the caucus on Jan. 13, 2014.
