Wants to Actively Represent Us

I am writing to endorse lifelong Deep River resident Jim Olson for Region 4 Board of Education (BOE). Jim attended Deep River Elementary School, was in the first class of 7th graders to attend the new John Winthrop Middle School and he graduated from Valley Regional High School in 1976. Currently, his children are at Valley Regional.

He has been an active citizen in our community all his life as a Deep River firefighter (retired), Deep River Ambulance Association member (retired), and founding member and pilot of the Eagle One rescue helicopter serving the area for many years. Currently, Jim serves as a dedicated and active member of the Deep River Elementary BOE for nearly 10 years.

He strives to apply a commonsense approach to our school system, drawing from 37 years of business experience at Whelen Engineering as well as the home-grown input as a lifelong resident. Jim now wants to actively represent us at the Region 4 level. His years on the Deep River BOE gives him unique insight as to how the district's children progress throughout the education system.

I hope your readers agree and vote Nov. 5 for Jim Olson as the best choice for Region 4.
