Cannot Provide Adequate Housing

Who is First Selectman Michael Freda trying to fool? He has told the North Haven citizens he would like to build affordable housing for senior citizens so the seniors would sell their homes to get younger families to purchase their homes.

The reality is the so-called "affordable housing" will only be 8 of 144 units in a proposed State Street apartment complex. He also neglected to tell us what is considered "affordable housing" and what the other 136 unit rentals' price range would be. Tell me, who will be the privileged to get the eight affordable housing units?

What he really is doing is pulling the wool over the eyes of the seniors who have lived here all their lives, supported this town, and helped make North Haven what it is today. We have been taxed out of our homes, and he still cannot provide adequate housing for us. Yes, there is some housing available in North Haven for seniors, but the waiting list to get in takes years.

I encourage seniors to wake up.
