A Place to Stand...

For the past year, it's been my honor to run for the 12th District State Senate seat. I want to thank everyone for all the support they've shown me and my family during this campaign. I'm so very humbled by their faith and trust in me.

I'm also so proud of the campaign that we ran-one that was focused on integrity and the issues. Although we came up just short of our goal, I'm confident our campaign succeeded in framing the debate and raising awareness and the dire consequences of continuing with the status quo.

I would like to further extend my thanks to all the volunteers and those who voted for me, as well as my steering committee: Campaign Manager Ken Wilson, Treasurer Ray Bower, Gary Kaisen, Cliff Merin, Mitch Cohan, Louis Iorio, Art Symonds, Ray Ingraham, Austin Cesare, Jennifer Coppola, Trish Hamilton, and Glen Stefonovics. I'd also like to thank state representatives Vinnie Candelora and Noreen Kokoruda and Madison Republican Town Committee Chair Tom Banisch.

I would also like to also thank my aunt Marilyn, father Dominic, and sister Karen for assisting me in every way possible. I would especially like to thank my husband, Rich, for his undying love and support. Also, special thanks to our children, Joey and Samantha, for their patience and kisses.

I have a sign in my office that I live by: "Give me a place to stand and I can move the world..." I thank your readers for giving me a platform on which I was able to stand and discuss issues that will better our state. I remain committed to public service with a renewed sense of faith and obligation to do a better job in government than we are doing.
