Bittersweet Evening

There are times in our life when we experience a "feel-good" moment. Saturday evening, April 28, up on the hill at John Winthrop Middle School, was one of those times. The tribute to Lt. Bill Morris-husband, father, grandfather, brother, fireman, friend-was awesome. This heartwarming evening would not have been possible without the help and support of so many people.

To the restaurants, organizations, stores, and individuals that donated food, desserts, and flowers, thank you. To everyone that purchased tickets, attended the dinner, or made donations, thank you. To the almost 100 donors of items for the silent auctions and to everyone who bid, thank you. To the Deep River firemen and the auxiliary for all their help in setting up before, helping during, and cleaning up after the dinner, thank you. To Thomas Peterlik for time spent with us prior to the dinner and working with us to serve more than 700 dinners, thank you. To Billy's family and friends who helped in so many ways, thank you.

And, to the man of the hour, Billy, thank you for bringing so many people together for one bittersweet evening.
