Collapse Nets Quick Response

My husband and I are writing to express our sincere thanks to the many people who responded so quickly when our commercial garage partially collapsed from the weight of snow on the morning of Sunday, Feb. 6.

When it collapsed, alert workers from Top Notch Electric in the Plattwood Industrial Park heard the groans and then the collapse. They called the Deep River Fire Department, which responded quickly. My husband Gary and I were out of state at the time, but many friends responded right away.

We'd like to thank the Deep River Fire Department, Building Inspector Dick Leighton, the Lee brothers from Top Notch Electric, Rick Alexander, Don Wheeler, Ed Zaremba, Gil Bartlett, Miles Townsend, Haynes, Bob Finkeldey, Dick Smith, Ray Archambault, our son Curt, our daughter Ginny, and anyone else I might have missed.

We were relieved that no one else was on site when this happened, so there were no injuries. Thanks go again to one and all. We are examining all the options with our insurance people as to what the future holds for our property.
