Helping a Girl Out

The purpose of this letter is to thank the many kind and considerate people of Deep River for helping a girl out when she accidentally left a rack of fleece jackets outside her shop earlier this month. Many of your readers know that I often have clothing outside Anchor & Compass, which is an effective way of getting the attention of passers-by. Well, plenty of the wrong kind of attention came my way the other night when I had a flood of voicemails waiting for me when I got out of the movies, all from local friends and strangers alike who were worried about the jackets I had left outside the store!

Luckily for me, three kind Deep River residents carried everything over to the Town Hall, where Park & Rec was holding a meeting and everyone, including out First Selectman Dick Smith, worked to be sure they were safe. Michael Carroll and his wife and sister-in-law, along with many other residents, came to my rescue and I am grateful and so very proud of my hometown of Deep River.

I am honored to be one of the newest merchants on Main Street and I thank the town for its continued support and friendship.
