Highly Respected by his Peers

For our party primary in August, the Deep River Democratic Town Committee enthusiastically supported the candidacy of Terry Lomme for judge of probate. Our endorsement was based on an exhaustive examination of the credentials of six potential nominees.

After interviewing all six candidates, we spent considerable time discussing the relative merits of the group. Here is what we learned about Terry Lomme: Judge of probate will be his full-time job. A practicing attorney for more that 30 years, primarily in family law, Terry has been a client advocate before the probate court. He was probate judge in East Haddam prior to moving to Essex. Highly respected by his peers, he served as president of the county bar association, but Terry took no campaign contributions from attorneys.

In addition, our town committee asked ourselves this question: Which of the candidates would I prefer as judge were I to appear before the probate court?

Terry Lomme was our unanimous choice based on this test. We found him to be quiet in demeanor, a good listener, and thoughtful in expressing his opinion-all personal traits of an effective judge of probate.

I will be voting to support the election of Terrance Lomme on Nov. 2 and hope all Deep River voters will join in electing Terry Lomme as our judge of probate.
