A History of Community Service

In my campaign for judge of probate, I have prepared myself to manage and achieve as seamless a transition as possible in this newly consolidated district. Where prior to Jan. 5, 2011, the residents of each of the nine towns will have had their own probate court, as of this date they will all have one court located in Old Saybrook.

The effort to implement this consolidation smoothly will be considerable; it requires a judge who listens as well as he talks. During the campaign, I have listened to residents of the district. If elected, I will have a full-time, fully staffed office with an open-door policy. I will be a full-time judge. I will establish a "roving" court to minimize the inconvenience to those who find themselves unable to travel to the new location because of disability. I will hold periodic seminars throughout the new district to better inform the public on probate matters and will create an informative website with useful links and online, fillable forms.

I believe my 28 years of legal practice, with a substantial concentration in the area of probate law, as well as my experience as a small business owner give me the skills necessary to serve this district well and achieve the goals I have set.

Ultimately, I seek to become judge of probate because I believe I not only have the necessary legal skills, but I also have a history of community service that makes me the better candidate. This office would be the culmination of my efforts to serve my community and also achieve professional satisfaction. It would be a great privilege to be elected to serve the residents of the 33rd Probate District. For additional information, I urge your readers to view the website
