Branford’s Senior Legion Loses a Few to North Haven; Juniors Take Loss Versus Trumbull


Senior Legion Baseball

The Branford Senior American Legion 19-U baseball team faced North Haven for a three-game series in last week’s action. Branford took defeats in all three games of the series to put its record at 0-7 on the year.

Post 83 took a 13-4 road loss to North Haven in the first game of the series on June 26. Nico Falcioni went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run, a run scored, and 3 RBI for Branford in the game. Ryan Nuzzo went 1-for-2 with a walk, a run, and an RBI; and Timothy Shields went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored for Post 83.

Then on June 28, Branford played a home game versus North Haven and took an 18-0 defeat. Zachary Turbert went 2-for-2 for Branford, while Nuzzo was 1-for-2 with a walk in the game.

The day after that, Post 83 faced North Haven on the road and dropped a 6-1 decision in the final contest of the three-game set. Caleb Allen went 2-for-3 for Branford in the game. David Loomis went 1-for-3 with a run scored, Turbert was 1-for-2 with a walk, Shields went 1-for-2 with a stolen base, and Anthony Fusco had an RBI for Post 83.

Junior Legion Baseball

The Branford Junior American Legion 17-U baseball team played a road game versus Trumbull last week. Post 83 took an 11-0 loss against Trumbull in the contest on June 28. Branford moved to 0-6 on the season with the defeat.
