North Branford Golf Places 9th at Division III State Championship

The North Branford boys’ golf team hit the links to participate in the Division III State Championship last week. The Thunderbirds finished in a tie for ninth place at states by recording a team score of 357 at Fairview Farms Golf Course on June 7.

Sophomore Jack O’Brien carded a score of 86 for his 18-hole outing to finish in a tie for 27th place at the Division III State Championship. Freshman Robert Cappella posted an 87 and finished in a tie for 29th place.

Senior Dakota Cooper finished in a tie for 36th place with a score of 89 at the state meet. Senior Blake Pearson scored a 95 to finish in a tie for 56th place, and fellow senior Jalen Rossicone finished in a tie for 61st place by carding a 97 for North Branford.

The T-Birds finished the 2022 regular season with an overall record of 12-1-2. North Branford went on to finish in fifth place at the Shoreline Conference Championship.
