Branford Golf Finishes Excellent Regular Season

The Branford boys’ golf team finished its regular season with a record of 17-1 after picking up victories in a trio of road meets last week. The Hornets defeated Jonathan Law, Lyman Hall, and Foran to close out an exceptional regular season this spring.

Branford began the week by earning a 167-202 road win over Jonathan Law at Orange Hills Country Club on May 23. Junior Keegan LaLonde garnered medalist honors as the low scorer of the meet with a 37 on the round. Senior Justin Acquarulo and junior Colin Deane both finished with a score of 42 for the Hornets. Junior Mike Farricielli carded a score of 46. Junior Matt Morgan shot a 47 in the victory. Senior Ava Brunner finished with a scorer of 55 for Head Coach Jen Kohut’s squad.

The following day, Branford earned a 164-221 victory versus Lyman Hall in a road match at Wallingford Country Club. Acquarulo was the medalist of the contest by posting a low total of 37 on the afternoon. LaLonde carded a 39, Deane shot a 43, and Morgan finished with a score of 48.

Then on May 25, Branford was back on the road to face Foran for its regular-season finale and claimed a 173-211 win against the Lions.
