H-K/Morgan/Valley Swim Team Competes in States

The H-K/Morgan/Valley (H-K/M/V) co-op boys' swimming team competed at the Class M State Championship at Cornerstone Aquatic Center on March 16. H-K/M/V came in 14th place, scoring 160 points at the Class M meet.

Junior Jack Ferguson claimed fifth place in two events for H-K/M/V at the Class M State Championship. Ferguson finished fifth in the 200 individual medley by swimming a time of 1:58.82. Ferguson also took fifth place in the 100 breaststroke by recording a time of 1:00.62 in the event.

The Cougars' 200 medley relay of senior Colby Kish, Ferguson, junior Alejandro Campo de la Vera, and senior Connor Levy finished in seventh place with a mark of 1:45.14 at the state meet. The 400 freestyle relay featuring Levy, senior Tarik Hasic, Campo de la Vera, and Ferguson took 13th place (3:38.93); and the 200 freestyle relay of freshman Riley Schipritt, junior Joshua Colandrea, Hasic, and Kish finished in 17th place (1:43.20).

Levy finished 17th in the 500 freestyle (5:10.30) and was 20th for the 200 freestyle (1:53.20) at the Class M meet. Campo de la Vera finished 22nd in the 200 IM (2:11.42) and came in 23rd place in the 100 butterfly (57.95). Kish finished 22nd in the 50 freestyle (24.15) for H-K/M/V.

A few days after the Class M meet, Ferguson competed in the State Open Championship at Cornerstone Aquatic Center on March 19. Ferguson swam two events for the Cougars at the Open, taking 15th place in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.14) and finishing 17th in the 200 IM (1:59.46). With these performances, Ferguson scored 21 points that put H-K/M/V in 36th place in the State Open standings.
