The North Haven girls’ volleyball team won two of its three matches last week to improve its record to 13-2 on the campaign. North Haven posted sweeps against Mercy and West Haven before taking a loss against Hand in last week’s action.

North Haven opened up the week by claiming a 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 27-25) road win versus Mercy on Oct. 12. Senior Hannah Auddino had 32 assists with three digs and one ace for North Haven. Fellow senior Caroline Toni posted 12 digs with eight kills, two aces, and one block in the victory. Junior Sophia Vauiso added nine kills with one block.

The following day, North Haven played a road match against West Haven and blanked the Blue Devils by a 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-10) score. Auddino had 21 assists and six aces, while Toni recorded nine kills, four digs, and one ace for North Haven. Junior Kayla Balisciano chipped in with six kills, two digs, and two aces.

North Haven finished its week by dropping a 3-2 (25-14, 19-25, 25-20, 15-25, 15-10) decision to Hand in a home match on Oct. 15. Auddino had 35 assists with six digs and four aces for North Haven. Toni had 14 kills with seven digs and five aces, while Balisciano recorded 12 digs, nine kills, and one ace.

The North Haven boys’ soccer team played two games last week and came away with a split of the set to move to 3-7-1 on the season.

In its first game of the week, North Haven took a 5-0 road loss against Guilford on Oct. 12. Three days later, North Haven hosted West Haven and claimed a 3-2 victory versus the Blue Devils.

The North Haven girls’ soccer squad had three games on its schedule last week with contests against Cheshire, Career-Hillhouse, and Lauralton Hall. North Haven finished the week with a win and two losses to put its record at 5-7 on the year.

On Oct. 12, North Haven took a 4-0 road loss to Cheshire. The very next day, North Haven hosted Career-Hillhouse and won the matchup by an 8-1 score. Then on Oct. 16, North Haven played a road game versus Lauralton Hall and dropped a 1-0 decision.

The North Haven field hockey team lost two road games last week and is now 2-7-2-1 on the season.

On Oct. 12, North Haven took an 8-0 defeat in a contest at Cheshire. Then on Oct. 15, North Haven faced Guilford on the road and took a 10-1 loss to the Grizzlies.

The North Haven girls’ swimming and diving team moved to 5-4 on the year after gaining a split of two matchups last week.

North Haven started off its week by earning a 95-83 home victory over Mercy at Walter Gawrych Community Pool on Oct. 12. Two days later, North Haven had a road meet versus Lauralton Hall and took a 101-80 defeat to the Crusaders at Foran High School.

The North Haven girls’ cross country team sent six runners to compete in the Wickham Invitational at Wickham State Park in Manchester last week. North Haven totaled 436 points as a squad to finished in 17th place among 23 clubs in the medium race at the Wickham Invite on Oct. 9.

Junior Payton Orosco turned in North Haven’s top showing by finishing with a time of 23:04 to take 55th place out of 171 participants in the 5K. Freshman Daniella Rapuano finished in 89th place (23:04), and fellow freshman Amalia Morizio came in 99th place (24:49) for North Haven.

Freshman Grace DeNardis finished in 119th place (25:40), senior Riley Minns took 132nd place (26:40), and junior Elisabetta Sposito came in 161st place (30:20) at the meet.

The North Haven boys’ cross country team was represented by six athletes when the Wickham Invitational took place at Wickham Park in Manchester on Oct. 9. North Haven finished in 24th place out of 32 teams for the medium race with a team score of 594 points.

Sophomore Nico Boyle took 68th place out of 218 runners for the 5K race by crossing the finish line with a time of 18:45 for North Haven. Senior Luke Nugent came in 106th place with a time of 19:22. Junior Tyler Wrum finished in 120th place (19:40), senior Michael Rubano came in 140th place (19:53), junior Blake Butler finished in 178th place (21:06), and sophomore Luke Reilly finished in 203rd (22:08) for North Haven.
