The Morgan girls’ soccer team played three games last week and came away with two wins and a tie to improve to 9-0-4 in the 2021 season. The Huskies played Cromwell to a draw before defeating East Hampton and East Lyme in last week’s contests.

Football

The Morgan football team hit the road to take on the Sport & Medical Sciences (SMSA) Co-op squad at Hartford Public High School last week. The Huskies notched their fourth-straight victory and improved to 4-1 on the year by earning a 44-42 victory over SMSA on Oct. 16.

In a back-and-forth battle, Morgan took the lead for good when senior Andrew Nye threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to fellow senior Alex Fratamico midway through the fourth quarter. On the next drive, the Huskies’ defense stopped SMSA on fourth down inside the Morgan 10-yard line. Morgan punted the ball back to SMSA, but the defense came through again by forcing a turnover on downs at midfield with about a minute left in the game.
