East Haven’s Teams Take a Few Defeats

Boys’ Soccer

The East Haven boys’ soccer team played one game last week it faced Cheshire on the road on Oct. 16. The Yellowjackets took a 6-0 defeat against the Rams in the matchup at Cheshire High School. East Haven now has a record of 2-8-2 on the year.

Girls’ Soccer

The East Haven girls’ soccer team moved to 4-6-2 on the year after losing two home games last week.

East Haven started off the week by taking a 1-0 home loss versus Guilford on Oct. 12. Three days later, the Yellowjackets played Sheehan at East Haven High School and dropped a 3-1 decision to the Titans. Junior Gianna Mendez scored a goal for the Easties in the loss.

Girls’ Volleyball

The East Haven girls’ volleyball team lost two contests last week to move to 3-12 on the season.

In its first match of the week, East Haven took a 3-0 road loss to Lauralton Hall on Oct. 11. Then on Oct. 15, the Yellowjackets hosted Jonathan Law and lost the matchup by a 3-0 final.

Football

The East Haven football team traveled to Milford to take on Jonathan Law for an SCC contest on Oct. 15. The Yellowjackets took a 42-7 defeat versus Law at Lawmen Stadium to move to 0-3 in the fall season.

East Haven’s next game is a non-conference matchup against Joel Barlow on Friday, Oct. 22. The game gets underway at 7 p.m. at Joel Barlow High School in Redding.
