CT Warriors Win in League Quarters, Lose in Semis

The CT Warriors 19-U AAU baseball team saw its season come to a close in the semifinals of the East Shore Travel League Playoffs last week. The Warriors defeated the CT Rage in their first game of the tourney before losing to the NCT Mustangs in the quarterfinal round. Head Coach Jim Petonito’s team finished its season with an overall record of 9-8-1.

On Aug. 11, the 7th-seeded CT Warriors kicked off the playoffs by facing the 10th-seeded CT Rage for a quarterfinal game at East Shore Park in New Haven. The Warriors doubled up the Rage by the final tally of 6-3 to advance into the semifinal round.

The next day, the CT Warriors played the 2nd-seeded NCT Mustangs in the semifinals at East Shore Field. The Warriors took a 10-0 defeat against the Mustangs, who went on to win the tournament by defeating the Guilford 19-U team in the final.
