Clinton 8th-Grade Boys’ Hoops Wins Wallingford Summer League


The Clinton 8th-grade travel boys’ hoops squad claimed a 43-41 victory over Haddam-Killingworth to win the Wallingford Summer League title. The Clinton 8th-grade travel boys’ basketball team captured the crown in the Wallingford Summer League by defeating Haddam-Killingworth in the league championship game on July 28.

The Clinton squad advanced to the championship with a two-point win versus Cheshire in the semifinals on July 27. The following day, Clinton edged out a gritty H-K squad by a 43-41 score in the league final to take the title. The young Huskies finished off their season by winning six of their last seven games.

The athletes on Clinton’s team are Gavin Baptista, Michael Delorenzo, Cole Donnelly, Nate Kinser, Wyatt Luke, Luke McComiskey, Hunter Mancini, Brian Pluck, Griffen Renaudo, and Logan Ryan. The team’s coaches are Rob Baptista and Tom McComiskey.
